Hi Marg,

My grandmother was Ellen Knopp who came to Australia in 1922. The earliest ancestors I have been able to trace were William (born abt 1798) and Hannah (1815)Knopp from Chadwell and Grays Essex respectively. Their son George (born Grays abt 1842) was my g Grandfather. In the 1901 census Ellen was living in London with her aunt and uncle Harry and Emma Bunker. Emma's maiden name was Knopp and she was the son of James Knopp (born abt 1841 in Elmstead Essex. It sounds as though this James may be connected to yours. What do you think?

Kind regards,

Bruce Goode
