Marie, I think I probably mentioned that we have done some DNA testing on KNOTTS members. I matched 23 out of 25 markers with one WV KNOTTS, and 24 out of 25 markers with another. So it's fairly certain we're from the same clan. But we're trying to find out who my gg-grandfather Andrew Levi's family was. By naming convention, Andrew's father may have been Thomas KNOTTS, as Andrew named his oldest son Thomas. Andrew was b in 1770 in QA co. Do you know if Robert had any other sons than Absalom? My g-grandfather, William KNOTTS, b 1805, QA co., went to Oregon (Via IL. and IA) on the Oregon Trail in 1845-46. He was the first Benton Co Clerk. The first court session was held on his front porch, as there was no courthouse yet. Thanks for responding. Bob
