Father was Isaac Case Knowlton, mother was Mary Smith Wellington. Birth info. on gravestone listed in New Bedford Vital Records.
Birth: Isaac Case Knowlton DD b. 1819 on stone with Mary S. GR 1 (+Rural cem., New Bedford) vital rec. pg. 228
- DD = Doctor of Divinity
Birth: Mary Smith Knowlton, b. ___ 1825, on stone with Isaac Case GR 1. New Bedford vital records pg. 228.
Stockings says: Isaac Case Knowlton is #1605 (son of #602 Ezekiel Pierce Kowlton and #701 Mary Knowlton. (not confirmed by me. (mac))
Mass Probate Index 1871 - 1909 Middlesex County has:
Surname - Give Name - County - Date - Subject - Number
Knowlton - Isaac C. - Action - 1894 - Will - 37311
from pg. 37 errata to Stocking:
pg. 61 (#602 Stocking) Ezekiel b. 1765, was stepson of Jeremiah Knowlton. Ezekiel was the son of Mrs. Anna pierce of Manchester, mass., and after the marriage of his mother to Jeremiah Knowlton march 12, 1778, became known by the surname of his stepfather. He married mary (called Polly - mac) Knowlton (#701 Stocking) in 1794, not 1795. His descendants are therefore Knowltons on their mother's side.
Mary (Polly) Knowlton is said to be the dau. of Nathaniel Knowlton and lucy Chapman.
