Seeking information on origin of Elijah Knowlton, born about 1756 resident of North Hero, Grand Isle Co. Vt. from 1790-1820.and Eliphalet Maxfield, born about 1775 in NH. Knowlton wives Polly Darrow (?) and Mary Hamlin, daughter of Barnabas Hamlin. Possibly same man as Elijah Nolton/Nolten,Knowlton of 4th Regiment, NY in the Revolution. Knowlton daughters: Lucinda, Polly Freeman, Charlotte Temple and Lovina. Lucinda married Elnathan Maxfield, (born NH or CT), in North Hero. The other daughters married Hazens from North Hero. Elnathan and Lucinda moved to Plattsburgh, NY,then to Potsdam, NY. Elnathan died in Michigan. Lucinda died in Potsdam. Any information would be appreciated.
