Judie, do you have an obit and/or death certificate for Herman? There were several Koepke families in Washington County & the surrounding area. Herman seems to have been a common first name found in all of them. I haven't figured out how or if all of the families were related.

He could easily have been from any of the family lines that settled in Jackson (Kirchhayn), Kewauskum & the Town of Herman (Dodge Cty), not to mention Milwaukee, so begining with his end might be the best way to figure out where you should start finding more info about him.

Are you sure about the year you listed for his birth? I have a Herman born in 1893 in one of my databases.
