Henry,
Three things strike me as curious about your posting: My greatgrandfather Christian Spenler immigrated from Germany, his passport dated 1872; his daughter married a Koepke and lived in Hartford, Michigan; and one of his sons was Christian Wilhelm Spenler - the middle names used were frequently taken from friends or other relatives; Christian and sons Fredrick and Christian are on the 1880 census living with the Lohrenzo family from Prussia. All coincidences do you think? ....Mary
