New "Cope" derivation - "Koep"

Please feel free to visit the KOEP Forum. My family and I will be changing our surname to Koep. I am a Cope, Kop, Kopp, Kope, etc. descendant. But choose not to use my father's spelling of it, as he had no role in my life. I am just now reconnecting to my lineage.

I have been able to trace back to Jost on the Adventurer in 1727 but not beyond that. I've found that among the many forums, there is one common problem with this surname. That is the inconsistent use of the derivatives.

I welcome all inquiries into any of the derivatives and I will help as I can.
