Mr. Williams,
I apologize for sending you incorrect information - too late at night to be thinking clearly. I am descended from Hans Jacob Koger's son, Nicholas Koger - William M. Koger - Charlotte Koger Burk - Wesley Crusoe Burke
- Alvin Koger - Charles Koger - Savanah Myma Koger Byers Burke
The last two names in each line were by great-grandparents.
Thank you for the current information! We concur on much of the information. My Hans Jacob Koger and your Joseph Koger were half-brothers. I understand that family legend states that the body of Joseph Koger III was brought back to South Carolina, but a gravesite for him has never been found. Is that true?
I do have the family of Mary Koger and Benjamin Risher, Jr. but did not know about Mary's second marriage. If you have any more info about Mr. Newell or their son, I would appreciate it.
I can find your ancestors but some of the generations are missing in my record. Joseph Koger Risher - Martha Ann Risher(married Henry A. Williams) - ? missing son(I only have Sarah Catherine Williams) - ? Williams - Robert Williams. When Henry and John Koger visited South Carolina, the young William who accompanied them was probably Henry's youngest child, William.
To clarify the relationships: Hans Jacob was an uncle to Joseph Koger, Jr./a granduncle to Mary A. Koger/ 1st great granduncle to Joseph K. Risher/ 2nd great granduncle to Martha Ann Risher. - Carla
