Mary Koger, daughter of Joseph Koger II, was born on 4 July 1782; on 12 Dec 1804, she married Benjamin Risher
Jr. Benjamin Risher, Jr died due to a fall from a horse on 10 Oct 1810, he was probably 28 years old at the time of his death.

Mary Koger Risher married Thomas Newell. Thomas Newell was born 1 July 1773 in Camden District, Sumter County, SC. He moved to Orangeburg District, Sc about 1790.

Not sure when Thomas and Mary were married. Mary died 25 Oct 1814 the day Thomas Newell, Jr. was born.
Thomas Newell, Jr. died August 1834 and never married. Thus to the best of my knowledge there are no Koger descendants via Thomas Newell's line. It is my understanding that Thomas Newell, Sr. passed away in 1852 in Misissippi.

There is a tendency to believe that Mary Koger Risher Newell passed away in SC; however, some researchers indicate she may have died over in Alabama or Mississippi. When Mary passed away, the oldest of her 3 surving sons, Benjamin Risher III was only 9 years old. So far, I haven't stumbled across who took care of Mary's 3 orphans.
