Leon Reporter, Leon, Iowa
Thursday, February 5, l925

Cheyenne, Wyoming, Feb. 4th.
Editor Reporter -- Enclosed find remittance for my Reporter, and will write some so all of my old Iowa friends can hear from me. We have had a real cold winter here, getting down to 25 below several times, and it was colder than that at other places. We have had quite a lot of snow and the wind has blown an awful lot the past fall and winter, but it wouldn't be Wyoming if the wind didn't blow. We are all enjoying very good health. We had a very good crop last year considering everything, but we didn't get a very good price for our grain last fall, but prices are climbing up at present, and we hope the price will continue to come up if we are lucky enough to raise a big crop this year. SHERMAN got quite a good fall crop out last fall, putting in l75 acres of fall wheat and got 80 acres of fall plowing done with the help of JAMES, my brother. BLUF KOGER, was here a couple of months last fall and he was lots of help. SHERMAN has quite a lot of spring plowing to do this spring, as he wants to put out quite a bit of spring crops such as spring wheat, oats, millet and corn. Our stock has all wintered fine and our cattle are almost as fat as corn fed cattle, as they have had good pasture (*can't read, torn area in paper) on the ground. Our horses have done real well just on what pasture they could get. We keep a few hogs and have sold 32 head the past fall and winter besides keeping our meat for the summer, and we are keeping a few hogs for summer use, as hogs do well here and prices have been good all of the time. I met MRS. OSCAR BECK, of Big Piney, in Cheyenne Saturday, and had a nice visit with her, but have not seen OSCAR, but MRS. BECK said they were coming out to visit us while they are in Cheyenne, as they will be in Cheyenne until the latter part of this month. The weather
is lovely here the past week or two and SHERMAN says if it stays nice like it has been for the past week or so, he would be able to start plowing again.

We could hardly get along without The Reporter in the family. We have taken it for over forty years, and my father had taken it before as long back as I can remember. I think he was among the first subscribers to the paper when it was started, so it has been in the KOGER family for a long time. With kind regards to all our old friends, I am
Yours truly,
