I believe there is a Koger reunion once a year and it is held at a different location each year. This web site has photographs of the old Koger house that is near Grover, SC in Dochester County (Colleton Distrcit when the house was built.) http://www.angelfire.com/rebellion2/camp123/KogerHouse.html Th hsitorical marker that was dedicated on 7 Dec 2003 indicates the structure was built for Joseh Koger, Jr. the person who sold the house in 1838 before moving to Mississippi. Actually he was Joseph Koger III - the 1820 census shows him as Junior as does a few other sources. Joseph Koger I came to America after 1730 and settled in South Carolina. Some researches indicate he had 4 brothers that settled in the Pennsylvani/Virginia area. Also, one sister who married Adam Miller -I am not sure but believe the sister's name was Barbara. Captain Joseph Koger II served in the American Revoluiton and some believe he had the old building that is still standing near Grover built as an inn. Major Joseph Koger III served in the War of 1812 and was in his late 50's when he moved to Mississippi in 1838. Notify Administrator about this message?
