Daddy took me to a few of the old cemeteries when I was young, one of them was the Joseph Koger Risher Cemetery where my great great grandfather is buried. Joseph Koger Risher was married to his first cousin Havillah williams.
Two of Havillah's brothers, James Benjamin Williams
and Peter Edward Williams moved to Florida in the 1850's, settling near modern Lake City.
Joseph Koger Risher's and Havillah Williams Risher's daughter Martha married Henry Allen Williams. Henry was a first cousin of Havillah. Henry and Martha are my great grandparents. Five, two sons and three daughters, of Henry's and Martha's children, Koger descendants, made their home in the St Augustine, Flordia area around 1900. Actually, it was three sons but my grandmother got homesick so a third son returned to South Carolina.
Apparently some of the South Carolina Koger's also made their home in Flordia as indicared by this obituary.

My impression is that some of the decendants of the Virginia Kogers are trying to trace the roots of Peter Koger
who some say was a son of Hans Jacob Koger and some say he wasn't. Apparently, it is felt that a Peter Koger was living in Colleton District, SC around 1800. The 1800 census doesn't show a Peter Koger in the Colleton area. There is what looks life a "P" Koger, a portion was torn out between the "P" and Koger. I am not really sure if the first letter is a "P." One probelm is if the person was "P" Koger, then my 4X great grandfather Joseph Koger II was not included in the 1800 census as a head of household.
As you know Joseph Koger I is said to have come to South Carolina from what is now Germany. Not really sure where my Williams line is from. James E. Williams settled in the area of modern Colleton County, South Carolina after the American Revouiton.
Mary Koger was a daughter of Joseph Koger II and Mary Cook. The Cooks came to South Carolina from Conneticut before the American Revoluiton. Mary Koger married Benjamin Risher, Jr. Benjamin Risher, Jr's mother was Mary Fontaine Risher. The Fontaines and Rishers were Frecnh Huguesnots who settled in Virginia. Some of the Fontaines and Rishers moved to the New Bern area of North Carolina prior to the Amercian Revolution. The war brought them to South Carolina.
