Ms White,
I have a bit of information for you. Rev. Charles Evan Koger was the son of James Cavanaugh Koger and his wife, Elizabeth Haynes Lemacks. James was the son of Captain Joseph Koger II and his wife Mary Tebets Cook. This couple is well known in the Colleton District. Although this is not my direct Koger line I am interested in them. Charles Evan was born June 5, 1822 and died 1865. He married Mary Johanna White in 1839. She was born in 1825 and died in 1907. I would like to share your information. James William Koger was born Aug. 10, 1852, became a missionary but died of yellow fever in Brazil Jan. 28, 1886. He married Fannie Selinea Smith(born Oct. 29, 1853 died 1888)Jan. 7, 1880. This couple had four children: William Charles b. Oct 29, 1880 d. abt 1920; Mary Isabel b. Feb. 10, 1882; James Gaston b. May 24, 1883; and Fannie Sue b. Sep. 13, 1885. I have no information on Charles A., Ira or Robert Boyd Koger. I do have another child for Rev. and Mrs. Koger by the name of Mary Josephine Koger b. 1850 and married Benjamin F. King in 1868. Mr. King was born in 1847. I hope this helps your research. Please e-mail me at but due to computer problems DO NOT send a reply but rather a new message. Carla Nelson
