There is another story told by the McELWAIN side of your ancestor Peter COGER. It says Peter and Jacob (my ancestor) were sons of Hans Nicholas KOGER, a brother of Hans Jacob KOGER. Hans Nicholas was killed by Indians at the Hawksbill. Hans Jacob settled his estate. According to the McELWAIN story, Jacob and Peter were raised by Godfrey HAMILTON. Both were mentioned in Godfrey HAMILTON's will and estate records, along with a daughter of Hans Nicholas, who Godfrey also raised and who was taking care of him at the time of the writing of his will.
