Kollars in Pana Illinois
Posted by: John Anton Kollar III Date: February 06, 2002 at 11:05:16
  of 35

My Great Grandfather was named Anton Kollar. He immigrated to the USA from Austria in the late 1800's where he was an officer in the Royal Engineers. He lived in Idaho for a number of years as a mining engineer for several silver mines and was also a Hotel owner. Later he moved to Pana Illinois where he co-owned a road and bridge construction company called Kollar & Sells and operated another Hotel which still stands to this day. He died in Pana in the 1940's of pneumonia . He was survived by his second wife named Mary (maiden name unknown). His son, Dr. John Anton Kollar Sr., lived in Chicago and Harvey Illinois where he was an Industrial Surgeon at Engles Memorial Hospital. He died at the grand age of 103.
I hope this is of some help to those looking for connections.
