Koonce/Coonse Native American DNA

There is definately an Indian bloodline with the Koonce surname. My husband recently took the Family Tree Y-DNA test to discover who his biological dad (Koonce or Campbell) was. The only one he matched 37/37 markers was a Coonce. Surprise surprise...neither matched any other Koonce/Coonce/Kuntz/etc. They are the only ones in the Coon/etc. database that are of the C3 haplogroup which is Native American. The explanation could be that some nice Coon/etc family took in a Indian boy and he took the Koonce surname or an Indian took the surname for safety reasons probably during the trail of tears or before. My husband's line is as follows:
Larry Campbell b:1944 MO
Donald Koonce b:abt 1928 TN
Tweedie Herbert Koonce b:1890 Lauderdale County, TN
Henry Emmitt Koonce b:1869 TN
James Madison Koonce b:1843 TN (not positive on this)
Phillip Koonce b:1796 NC (again not poaitive)

Does anyone have any information on this Indian line? If so please e-mail me at ECarrol@aol.com and I will share what I have. Thank you!

Carrol Campbell
