I have been unable to obtain a marriage record for Susan Koonce, however, I do have copies of old letters from the 1860's and 70's that indicate who her siblings were and I have located them on old Census records. One letter written on 4 Apr 1872 from M Koonce (maybe Martin?) in Coopwood, Winston Co., Mississippi to his nieces & nephews (my GGrandfather, John McDaniel) in Texas says "Tell your mother (Susan) that her Uncle Lewis Koonce is yet alive and is living near Trenton, N.C. Sure enough, Lewis/Louis Koonce and wife Elizabeth were found on 1850, 1860 and 1870 Census, Trenton, Jones Co., N.C.
I hope this helps clarify things for you.
