Hi Jonathan: This is Ron Koplin in Salt Lake
City. My Dad spent two years in the area of
old Prussia. This is where our Koplin
genealogy originates from. He said that the
name meant "barrel maker" Their are so many
spellings ofKoplin"s that came from this part of Germany
I don't know if they meant the same thing? The oldest spelling that he
came up with was Koplihn on our line. Ronald
