I first bumped into George and Barbara while researching my Koraks in Chicago, which is why I'm guessing there's a link there (I just haven't found it - you know how it goes!). I also kept seeing Sister Barbara Ann (one of their kids).

From what I've gathered, they actually had 6 kids together, plus he had at least three previous to her. Here's what I've found so far - see what you think. Hope it helps!:

George P. Korak married Barbara Korak, b. ? d. 04 Oct 1939, Berwyn, IL (yes, her maiden and married names were the same happened all the time, Im finding).

Became a nun 08 Sep 1932, taught and was principal at a Chicago High School. Lived in Chicago, Iowa, and Missouri.

Ella V. , b. 02 Aug 1908        d. Mar 1993, Berwyn, IL

Blanche R., b. ?       d. 02 Apr 1961, Chicago, IL

George B., b. ?       d. 09 Mar 1954, Chicago, IL
Married to Jeanette.
Children: Lawrence (married to Wanda), Edith (married to William Krok), Jean (married to John Pfeiffer), Mabel

James C. , b. 25 Sep 1905        d. 09 Jan 1993, St. Louis, MO
Married to Sarah.

Sister Barbara Ann Korak, BVM, 87. Born November 25, 1914 in Chicago. Visitation October 9, 3 to 8 p.m., Marian Hall Chapel, Mt. Carmel, Dubuque, IA. Funeral, 11 a.m., October 10. She taught at the Immaculata High School, 1944-57, and was principal of Holy Name Cathedral High School, 1957-63. She also taught at catholic high schools in Iowa and Missouri. She served as congregational tresurer of the Sisters of Charity, BVM, and as development director. She was on the development staff of the Archdiocese of Dubuque; daughter of the late George and Barbara Korak; graduate of Sacred Heart School and St. Mary high school, before entering the BVM congregation on Sept 8, 1932; preceded in death by her sisters Matilda, Ella, Rose and Blanche, and brothers George, John, James and Michael; survived by nieces and nephews and the Sisters of Charity BVM. Memorials may be given to: The Sisters of Charity BVM Retirement Fund.

Sister Mary Barbara Ann Korak, BVM, 87, of Caritas Center, 1130 Carmel Drive, died at 5:57 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002, at the center.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Marian Hall Chapel at Mount Carmel, with burial in Mount Carmel Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel, where there will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. The Dennis Kitchen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She was a high school business teacher in Waterloo, Boone, Sioux City and Mason City, Iowa, Chicago, Ill., and St. Louis, Mo. She served as treasurer of the BVM congregation, director of the development office and retirement trust office and was a volunteer in the BVM archives.
She was a member of the BVM Senate; served in the finance office at Clarke College; and on numerous congregational committees.
She was born on Nov. 25, 1914, in Chicago, Ill., daughter of George and Barbara (Korak) Korak.
She entered the Sisters of Charity on Sept. 8, 1932, from Holy Trinity Parish, Chicago. She made her first profession of vows on March 19, 1935, and her final profession on Aug. 15, 1940.
Surviving are the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, with whom she shared life for 70 years; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given to the Sisters of Charity BVM retirement fund.
