What to do if.....

My Father was in the Korean War, earned a Purple heart and othr Medals. I'd like to check up on seeing if the Medals can be replaced even if he is gone now. The problem we have is 1) I cannot get his pension records yet since my Mom is still living and 2) His DD2 or whatever it is called is torn from being folded in his wallet for so many years. It is all still there I beleive, just in pieces. Also some copys were made at one time but my brother had possesion of them and they were ruined in a house fire. How can i get a copy of his DD2?

PS...He did not die in the war. he died from Lung Cancer.

TIA

Teri
