Teri; You should be proud of your Dad. He had an impressive number of medals. Most G.I's with combat experience don't talk much about it. Things they try to forget. The numbers you mention in the Ft Lawton area could be the unit he was with. Let me know what they are. The 27th Infantry Division did fight in Korea w/ a distinguished record. When a soldier qualified on the rifle range, he qualified with the M-l which was the basic weapon. The carbine was added to his medal because he also qualified with that weapon.
