Hello Darlene,

I looked it up for you in the Army's manual on abbreviations and acronyms and both of them are terms that are no longer "authorized for use".

Anyway, I did find them in doing a web search -

DWC - died while captured
DWM - died while missing
HDM - hostile, died while missing
HDW - hostile, died of wounds
NHDO - non-hostile, died, other
NHII - non-hostile, died, illness or injury

I did not find "HDWM"? Maybe it's a different way of saying "HDM"?

Chris
