I am trying to piece together lost information about my brother, Ray, who is deceased. He was from Ohio and served from January 1951 to May 1954. He received the Purple Heart from serious wounds in combat and I recall my older brothers telling me he was captured by the enemy, but escaped. His full record was lost in a fire according to the National Personnel Records Center. His partial reconstructed separation document includes a list of 5 medals he received, but it also states the following:
162 days lost under sec 6 (a) App 2b MCM 1951

What does this mean?
Is there anyone out there that served with him?

His son is deceased also, but he has grandsons who would like to know more about his service.
