My great, great, grandfather was William H. Koring. He was born in Prussia in 1838. He owned a hotel in Lancaster, PA. in 1860. I have not been able to find out when he arrived in the U.S. or any history on him prior to 1860. William supposedly had family, probably a brother in Ohio (Cleveland and/or Cincinnati). In tracing family history, I have found Korings in both Ohio cities, but I was never able to make a connection.
I was wondering if the William you listed in your posting could be my great, great, grandfather. The name and birth date match. In addition, my William was born in Prussia. Hanover was part of Prussia in the 1800"s. Do you know where the William you listed lived and/or died?
