regarding David Harrold`s posting,I believe the first part to be accurate,as my family settled on what was once called Koring Road between Westmoreland and Somerset counties in the late 1800s.My gr.grandfathers name was Fredrick William Koring from Germany.he came to America in his late teen`s to his early twenty`s.He married Fredricka Shaulis. To the best of my knowledge,he had two sisters, one sister, the married name was Speck, unknown first name and no known name of the second and was told they both moved west into Ohio.A cousin told me that our last name was spelled Khoering (with dots over the e)before this time.Fred and Fredricka had four boys and two girls that we know of,Charles,William,Fred Jr.,and John,Augusta, and Josephine.William was my g-father.I do not know anything of the Charles and Katie union, but am wondering if he could be Fred Sr`s father or brother.I remember hearing of an aunt Clara when young but do not know Lillie. If you could share any more information, please email me at (the server misspelled my last name,PLEASE do not correct)I have more recent info if you would care to contact me. Mark A. Koring
