Henry Hightower Caneega

I am trying to find a Henry Hightower Caneega, He was born in N.C. in or around 1835, His last name may have been Carnegie or Kornegay.I am finding out from my research that the name Caneega is not found in any records in N.C.. Supposely my grtgrtgrtgrandfather Henry was born in N.C. to a Catherine Caneega and name of Father is unknown?. The family moved to Wrightsville, Ga. where he married a Mary Ann Parker, however the name is spelled Canega. Henry enlisted into the CSA during the Civil War. And died in 1862. He also had a younger brother named John D. Caneega, John also enlisted in the CSA and died in Virginia during war time.
I am hoping that someone may have some information on this family.
Thank you,
Cathie
