Interesting enough..... I am trying to research my father yesterday too.... My great grandfathers last name was Outalw and my great grandmother's last name was kornegay... and they both were from Duplin county... I know in researching abit some Kornegays married Outlaws... I am african american and my great grand father was born in 1902 which means that he was 2 generations shy of slavery... I am thinking of going down to duplin county to do further research since most of my family still lives there...in Kenansville,NC which has been the county seat since the 1800's first I think it was called goshen swamp....good luck!
