Hi Cheryl.

Well All I know is that my grandmother's mother name was Mamie Kornegay and Her mothers name was Vinnie. My grandmother's father name ws Samuel Outlaw and his mother's name was Alice Outlaw who had a brother name abrahm Outlaw... I just started my research and the first listings of Outlaws in Duplin county data back to 1790 with James & MArtha Outlaw I am sure they were of caucasin descent. Since I live in the Washington, DC area I am thinking Of going to the national Archives to do a bit of research. In reading some Of the messages from the mesage board I know that there was an outlaw book.. I am going down the Carolinas Labor day weekend and hope to speak with more relatives on my grandmother's side to get further deatil.. like I said I am just getting started... and I know that being of African American descent there won't be too many records before 1850 since that is when the first started taking what was considered a full census of everyone in the household. But I could use any help you have.

Thanks a Bunch!
Stephanie Dixon
