Ed, I apologize for the late response but I just today browsed this forum. My g-g-grandfather was David Smith Kornegay. I have an uncle that is still alive that knew you grandfather. He calls him Uncle Daws and I have heard a few stories about him. My grandfather, N.D. Huff homsteaded a farm in Hobbs N.M. in the early 1900's that was at one time part of Earl Kornegay's ranch. I have traced David Smith back to George Kornegay and have lots of information on David Smith Kornegay. You can contact me at
