Brownie -
My g-g-grandfather was David Smith Kornegay. I am just returning to genealogy research after a 20 year hiatus. I have done very little research on the McGarys. I do know that the McGarys were in Opelousas Louisana in the early 1800s. I know that Bridget was born in County Armagh (spelling may be incorrect as this is from memory) in Ireland. My g-g-grandmother was Elizabeth, daughter of Bernard and Bridget McGary and was born in 1826. From birth records we believe she was the second Elizabeth born to Bernard and Briget. The first Elizabeth was born in 1817 and died as an infant.
