My great-grandmother was Ethel Rains b1887 nr Reform, Al. (Pickens Co.) dau. of
Joseph Lee Rains and Martha Wood>Arasmus Rains and Martha Wood> John "Shagline" Rains
and Elizabeth Caroline ? both born about 1796-1800.Felix Kornegay was a cousin. Do you know what the Kornegay/Rains connection was?
The Rains also tie into the Kings. I have suspected that "Shagline" is really Shanklin
as a Shanklin married a Rains in Montgomery, Va and also in WVA later. Do you know about this connection? Both Felix and Lee have signed in a memory book that I have of hers saying that they are cousins.
