My great-grandmother, MARY KATHERINE KORNEGAY was the wife of BYRD ALEXANDER BOYKIN, Jr. They had nine children: Tom Monroe, Byrd Alexander III, Jennie, Edward Augusta, James Lee Roy, Benjamin Horace, Sue Ima, Willard Chandler and then my grandfather, Calvin Clay Boykin, Sr. I don't know anything about the KORNEGAY family. I have seen a few pictures, thanks to my grandmother's photo albums she kept as a young woman. They lived in Miles, Runnels Co., Texas. Does anyone know of anyone related to the KORNEGAYS? I am also researching the BOYKIN family and having some luck there, but I don't really have any leads with my great-grandmother's family.
My sister and I drove through Miles this past summer. It was wonderful to see so many people working so hard to keep this little town going. Loved the library with the honor system!
Best of luck to everyone with their searches.
