I am a descendant of Jacob and Elizabeth (Wiggins) Kornegay through their son Marshal Kornegay, born June 21, 1812 and died January 24, 1853 in Sampson County, NC who married Catherine M. Cogdell, born January 18, 1815 and died June 3, 1885 in Sampson County, NC.

Their daughter, Elizabeth Ann Kornegay, born January 25, 1840 and died November 18, 1904, married on August 25, 1865 in Sampson County, NC, James Jesse Huggins, born December 11, 1840 and died March 10, 1887. James Jesse and Elizabeth Ann (Kornegay) Huggins had Roland Faison Huggins (my great-grandfather) who married Beatrice Gertrude O'Bryan of Colleton County, SC.

I am interested particularly in your statement that the wife of George I Kornegay has been proven not to be Susannah Stechy Stevens. I received that information without documentation back in 1983 and would very much like to know what documentation has been found to either prove or disprove it.

Thanks for any information you can give on this.
