I have been looking into the family tree for a short time, but have uncovered some interesting facts. Apparently, all of us are decendants of George Gunagi who came to North Carolina from Germany in 1709. Our family was nearly wiped out in the Cree indian war. But we survived. From what I have found out, our family were large plantation owners in NC, and had many slaves. I think that may be where the interacial thing went down. You will find some of the black Kornegays were very distinguished. After the civil war, our family sort of branched out all over the south. I live in Washington state now, but am moving back to Alabama next summer. I am going to look into the past a little more then. If I get more, I'll let you know. Ray
