From what I have found the name Kornegay Was
originally Hornigh and it went through different changes such as the one you mentioned until it became the Kornegay that we use today.All Kornegays are said to be decended from one man John George Hornigh
he was born in the kingdom of Talsen in the
Palatine area of Germany.Hope this helps.
