I do not know if this helps. I come from a village in western Slovakia (Chynorany) where about 1/4 of the people are Kosik's. (As you can tell I am one of them.) In the 1800's the first family came from another town in western Slovakia where they all have supposed to live and just multiplied over the centuries.
Until the WW2, Slovak countryside was VERY stable. People simply did not move and could tell by your surname what village you came from.
Since your great-grandparents were born at that time you might be lucky. I will try to find out that town (I will have to ask my father). You may then search the archives, perhaps?
Of course, this will not help if you are sure they came from the Czech Republic.
