My great grandfather, Joseph Kassik, came to America from Kolin, Czechoslavakia about(?) 1872's. He settled in northeastern Kansas near Blue Rapids. My grandfather, Wesley Kassik, was born July 26,1868 in Kolin. He homesteaded in the Oklahoma Cherokee Strip Land Run of 1893(?), near Dacoma. One of his four brothers was named Frank Kassik.
The family name is pronounced with a short "o" as if "kossik".
