Karl Koski was my father's Godfather. He was born in Finland. He was a runner along with my grandfather David Fagerlund. They always ran together. Many of the great long distance runners that participated in marathons in the 20's 30's were Finns. Many belonged to the FAAC in NYC. They were a tight knit group.I heard stories of them all hanging out at my granparents apartment in NYC and when times were hard there were many sleeping on the floors there, when my father was a small boy. Karl and my Grandfather were friends for years.Eventually Karl moved with his wife Kertu to Lake Worth Florida where they lived for many years and we visited them often. After his death, Kertu moved back to Finland.
