I know that my "Koski" family came from Finland to the United States via New York, and our name was shortened from Korpikoski. Some of the brothers and sisters relocated to Minnesota and my grandfather stayed in New York. The relative in Minnesota that I met once was named Lydia Korpikoski Halio, and she had a sister who never married. Does anyone know of these people or other relatives? We have always heard as children that they took on the name of the town they were from in Finland. I do not know that for a fact though.
