Hi Eva,

I was at the Mormon Library earlier this week and I looked up Felnemet. You are in luck. The Mormons did indeed microfilm Roman Catholic records for Felnemet, and they date all the way back to 1789! Unfortunately, the collection stops at 1895, so you're not going to find a birth record for your grandfather, Kalman Kovacs. But, if your family pretty much stayed in one place, you ought to be able to find records for Kalman's father, grandfather, and perhaps much further back than that.

Here are the cites:
HUNGARY, Heves megye, Felnemet -- Roman Catholic records
Births, Marriages and Deaths, 1789-1895: film # 0623855
More Births, Marriages and Deaths through 1895: film #0623856

Good luck! The staff at the Mormon Library will be able to guide you how to order these films. They charge you only a nominal fee, and it usually takes 2-3 weeks for the films to arrive.
