Hi. I am researching part of my family that came from Hungary. Janós KOVÁCS married Maria GAGULA. They moved to the USA and were living in Trenton, Mercer Co., NJ by 1891, when my great-great-grandmother Mae Anna was born. Janós apparently changed his name, or at least went by a literal translation of his name, John SMITH. Maria went by Mary SMITH. Mae also went by SMITH. She married Karl DAMINAITIS, a Polish Lithuanian immigrant who changed his name to Charles YOUNG, in Cleveland, OH. Janós and Maria may have been living in Cleveland at that time, but that's just speculation. Any information You can give will be greatly appreciated. If I can be of any help, please e-mail me too.
