Looking for Kovalchik, Kowalchik, Kovalchick, Kowalczyk, or tother ways to spell this surname - which came fromGalicia (Austria/Hungary) - town of Przemysl (Peremysal) at the turn of the century to 1910.Grandfather had two wives and at least 6 children.Father's name was Michael, with a brother Peter - both came here about 1909.They settled in Cambria County, Pa. Peter left a family over in the old country and never returned.His wife was Pashka (Pearl) and perhaps two children.Pashka believed to have remarried.Michael/Peter had half brothers/sisters = Steve, George, and ? and at least one sister Kashka (Catherine) who believed to have moved to Youngstown, Ohio and was married.They were all born late 1800's and over in the old country.Peter seved in the Prusian army under Franz Joseph.
