Dear Robyn,
I have long been searching for Levi's parents and just last month found his marriage record that states that he was the son of Peter and Julie Coil(this name is almost never spelled right). In the process, I have come up with tons of information on the Koyl(e) family but have yet to put it all together. I believe that your Nelson and my Levi were cousins. I think Nelson's father William and Peter were brother's but like I said, I haven't been able to put it all together so far. Myron's work has helped me sort out some of the names and relations, but not all of them. I haven't spoken with him for a while but will send you his email address since your Nelson is in his tree, he may have more to tell you than I do about him at this point.

I'm curious about Alexander and William Koyl's relation to Nelson and how you came up with that. I have been wondering if Alexander and William might have been Levi's brother's because they lived so close to Levi in Lapeer Co., MI. Myron didn't know who this particular Alexander belonged to either. We have an Alexander Koyl as a child of Nelson Koyl, but our information states that he was born in 1836. Then we have another Alexander Koyl, parents unknown, born October 9, 1838 in Elgin, Ontario. He married Ophelia Travis in 1869 in Lapeer Co., MI. Do you see where my confusion is? We have two Alexander's born on two different dates, one with parents: Nelson and Mary and one without parents. I wonder if they could be the same person or are we really talking about two different people?

I still have a lot of research to do on the Koyl family, thanks for sharing what you have learned on this forum and I will continue to do so as well. Hopefully we will be able to help eachother!

Thanks, Jennifer
