Jack or John Kozley (Kozlowski) - Pottstown, PA

I am desparately looking for info on my great-grandfather. He was from Pottstown, PA. His parents passed away when he was little and he was sent to work a farm before joining the Marines in 1914 or 1915 at the age of 16. He also worked for the Army Corps of Engineers and was pictured in a National Geographics Magazine (which i have) working on the Panama Canal.
He married Joan (Johanna) Freudenberg and they had 2 daughters (Martha and Dorothy). They my have married in Cinncinati, OH, which is where she was from.
He went by Jack, but his real name is either John or Frank. He also changed his last name to Kozley. All this name changing is making it very difficult for me to locate him. He and Joan spilt up way before I was born and no one really kept in touch with him and vice versa. It is unclear where his family came from originally. My mom tells me we are Czech, but in reading the forums, it is more likely that we are polish.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
