Dresden: Alexander Kraemer c. 1800-35

Alexandre Robert Kraemer, a civil engineer from Dresden, Saxony, Prussia, and his wife, Christiana Amalia (Emily)surname unknown, emigrated to Catawissa, Columbia Co., Pennsylvania about 1835 and appear there on the tax rolls 1836. He returned to Germany, we think to settle an estate, and never returned, leaving widow and children in Pennsylvania. It was family lore that he died at sea and was buried in the English Channel, which leads one to believe that it was on the return trip that he died. We conjecture that he went to settle an estate, but my father said he "went to make arrangements to send his sons to school." If anyone is out there reading this, and you happen to know of an Alexander or Alexandre Kraemer from Saxony, I'd sure appreciate a message to my e-mail. I have entire Alex. Kramer clan in this country.
