As it turns out I believe that the John Kratz living with the Kepper's in the 1870 census may in fact be my ancestor.I now think that the information I had been given that Rosina Ulrich (born 1852) married Ernest W. Kratz was wrong.I had been told that Rosina's Father was John Ulrich. But I have now learned that her Father was Ernest W. Ulrich. So, it makes sense that she named her son after her Father.Once I discard the idea that the Kratz that Rosina married was named Ernest, it makes sense that John Kratz the baker living with Kepper and John Ulrich was her actual husband. He's the right age, associated with the Ulrich's and his occupation matches her own.I do know that Rosina was unmarried in 1870 (at the time of this census). But by 1880 she had given birth to her son, Ernest Kratz. However, her husband was deceased by 1880 so I've never been able to learn his name.I did find that a John Kratz was listed in an index for people who died in baltimore between 1875-1879.I know I don't have much additional to share, but I do think that these people are connected.
