I'm looking for the Kresen (new spelling for you!) family from Wisconsin too. My Grandfather was Herman Augustus Wilhelm Kresen (b. Jun 3, 1896 in Wisconsin, d. May 19, 1971 in Chicago area). His parents came from Germany maybe a couple of years before Herman was born, because some of his siblings were born in Germany. Herman's parents were Charles (Carl) Frank Kresen (b. Oct 9, 1852 in Germany, d. Jan 29, 1928 in Wisconsin) and Minnie Augusta Berndt Kresen (b. Jan 31, 1855 in Germany, d. Jan 11, 1940 in Wisconsin). My Mom always said the spelling was changed when they came here and thought at least an "i" or "e" had been dropped, and it might have been "von Kre___".

I have some information on the family since coming to America but would like to find out from where in Germany they came, as well as their ancestry. If anyone knows something, my e-mail is Thanks 8-)
