Sometime in the 1840s, there was a P. Crichbaum man who came to Somerset County and either came with his wife, or married a local girl. There are no other Crichbaum, Cristbaum, Kriegbaum or any other variations of that name in Somerset County for the whole century except that one. I don't know much else, except that his wife's name was Elizabeth, born about 1809, they had a daughter Rosannah who died 12 May 1853, aged 8 years, 6 mos. 0 days; Elizabeth Crichbaum is then cited in the 1860 census of Quemahoning Twp, Somerset County as head of household, with a daughter Elizabeth, age 17. Presumably her husband either ran off or died sometime between 1843 and 1860.
Can anyone help me with this, who this P. Crichbaum was? He would have been born no later than 1827 or so.
