I have recently had some research done on the Krikac family in the Czech Republic. The Morstein story is false! In fact, my researcher said that there were Krikac names in the oldest birth register dating back to 1675.I have the Krikac family back to the early 1700s - the researcher couldn't determine who the father was of my oldest known Krikac ancestor (Martin Krikac). There was apparently a Morgenstein family who lived in Luzany, Bohemia, but the latest record of them dates to the later 1700s.The Krikac family probably bought the Morgenstein cottage and were also known as Morgenstein.According to my researcher, this was a common practice in Bohemia at the time, especially in the area where the Krikacs lived. As far as the fireman story goes - that may be true.I would love to share this information with anyone who is interested.I would love to have some more research done on the ancestors of the Krikac wives, but will have to wait until I can save enough money to have the research done (its pretty pricy!).
