Greetings! Thanks for your response. I have a document that may be of interest to you. It was to me but I haven't got it all figured out. I got it from Virginia Tobias from the McDermitt line. It was extracted from --Cambria Freeman--Ebensburg, Pa. Friday, September 5, 1879 by Ida D. Krug in 1983. It was from Schetches of Pioneer Life on the Alleghenies by A.D.H. The part that may be of interest to us follows:---
"George Krise settled in near the present site of Chest Springs in the year 1809. That enterprising borough was not thought of in those days, for most of that region was then a forest wilderness.,,,,,,,
"But to resume. Henry, Stephen and John Krise, sons of the above mentioned George Krise, settled in on the old Philipsburg road, between the place of John Nagle, jr, and St. Augustine. David and Valentine Krise
also settled in the vicinity of St. Augustine and lent their aid in clearing out the wilderness in that region...."
There is more but this is the important information. Also have a piece on David that
states that his son Henry L. is the great grandson of one who fought in the Revolutionary War.

Again, thanks. Please let me know if this helps.

Fr. Rene Guesnier, O.S.B.
